neglecting this blog, yes?

by madamelenormand @ 2008-03-25 - 17:08:14

mymymy it's been a while since I wrote on here!

quite a few things have changed for me, actually. I have a lovely new boyfriend called Callum. he's a dear, and likes pretty much everything I like. =]

I've recently learnt i'm going to the EVOLUTION festival in Newcastle next May, going to one with CSS, New Young Pony Club, Crystal Castles, and Does It Offend You Yeah?    So electrosexual much. =]

Although i don't think my mother will be that impressed with DIOYY. Ha .

Nice of the BBC3 to give us a 'mighty boosh night' especially since they've got a lot to thank the Boosh for! The best part imho was Julian's joke - 'I've got a confession to make...I've been seeing other audiences'. That cracked me up.
And Spencer Millman's impression of Dave Brown in the Bollo suit. Ha! =D

my favourite songs of the minute list [cos i'm bored]

Always where I need to be - ACOUSTIC VERSION - The Kooks
Northern Downpour - Panic at the Disco
To Make You Feel My Love - Adele [absolutely stunning version of Dylan. reminds me of callum too ^__^]

So yeah, anybody else going to Evolution give me a shout, might see you there. =]

P.S. i'm going camping tomorrow. No electricity, ARGH! But will be fun. hopefully.

NME awards...

by madamelenormand @ 2008-02-29 - 18:12:08

well well well!

i always look forward to the NME awards, and 2008's were pretty good!

SPECIAL WINNERS
BEST TV SHOW - THE MIGHTY BOOSH
It was expected really, because of the soaring popularity the show has got over the past couple of years, but always lovely to see them win something :)

BEST DRESSED - NOEL FIELDING
duuuh, obviously :P

SEXIEST MAN - NOEL FIELDING
double duuh! ;)

BEST SOLO ARTIST - KATE NASH
lovely!

BEST ALBUM - THE KLAXONS (MYTHS OF THE NEAR FUTURE)
great band and they did 'atlantis to interzone' to kick the awards off too!

THE "NME READERS NEED A GOOD BEATING WITH AN ELECTRIC BATON TO PUNISH THEM VOTING FOR THESE AND THEN UNDERGOING MENTAL HELP" AWARDS

BEST NEW BAND - THE ENEMY
whattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt? whatttttttttttttttttttttttttt? although they aren't extremely bad, and technodanceaphobic is alright, what about FOALS? and JOE LEAN AND THE JING JANG JONG? and PIGEON DETECTIVES? for frikks sake!
*although the award was presented by Faris Rotter, lovelovelove for no 1) being freaking ace 2) being in the horrors and 3) making tom something from the enemy look like a complete utter twat, hahahahaha.*

HERO OF THE YEAR - PETE DOHERTY
2 words: explanation,please?

BEST DANCEFLOOR FILLER - THE WOMBATS (LET'S DANCE TO JOY DIVISION)
OK, not as bad as other two, but what about FOALS?arrrgh! although it is a good song...

well apart from that all rest i didn't really care about :D

it's on again tonight on 4 i think, from 11:50 :D

good performances too.

big (well more like medium) momma post

by madamelenormand @ 2008-02-27 - 19:32:07

as i did about 5 blogs yesterday, i decided to do just one big one today, like a normal person (:

so i watched lily allen's chat show on bbc3 last night, only because my tv guide told me mark ronson and NOEL FIELDING were going to be on, ONLY TO FIND OUT NOEL CERTAINLY FREAKING WASN'T!
either he pulled out at the last minute or my tv guide is a traitorous little paper bitch.
3 excellent points about the show
1. the beautiful, beautiful mark ronson was on
2. he perfomed 'just' with alex greenwald: (phantom planet, who I only know the 'california' song (OC theme tune) from): he had a great stage presence, lovely voice n cuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuute as well :D
3. great trans/sexual/vestite called britney houston, who actually made leona lewis's bleeding love song look ok-ish via lipsynch. hah
btw: don't watch the show next week. claudia winkelman and louis walsh are on. it's a no-go.

oh, and i might be going to a IAMX gig at sheffield corp.

ciao ciao for now,                                        freaking slave labour english coursework calls.

Here's some Vince magic.

Saturn Juice - juice made from the many rings of Saturn...
 oh, i love that boy.

i got fidgety .....so i thought i'd write (again)

by madamelenormand @ 2008-02-26 - 19:09:55

well today children i had a very important lesson in how to wear RETRO GLASSES (aka imax glasses)

well you see my media class took a trip to bradford media museum and this was the result:
how to NOT operate a very large camera, lesson one
how to look an idiot with glasses, lesson two

i need to buy some actual real-life CD's.

by madamelenormand @ 2008-02-26 - 18:45:11

my limewire obsession is slightly, oh ever so slightly FUCKING ME OFF!
it freaking never works, and when it does, the songs never play
and there's a limited choice concerning the music i like really
suppose it's karma.................

what you get for being an illegal downloader

it's not that i don't like CD's, or i'm tight, i just can never be bothered to get them

eaurrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgh.

oh god, maybe i shouldn't post this?! like, when some people get fired for posting drunk pictures of themselves on myspace, or when this random chav put a video of him youtube speeding in his vauxhall astra and he nearly got jailed or something?!

jesus.

too ... uninteresting?

by madamelenormand @ 2008-02-26 - 17:58:37

one serious question to ponder about: is my life and interests and opinions really that interesting to write about in a blog?
i've been looking around on blog.co.uk and from looking at a couple people's blogs i'm beginning to think my life pales in comparison to those who goes to loads of gigs and generally do stuff other people can be envious about.
i'm really normal, i'm only 14 (c'mon, give me a little break here) my parent's don't really approve of going to gigs where alchohol is served (not that i'm not allowed to drink, mind; they just worry about me being bumraped or spiked, which is kind of understandable, although i don't get the impression there's many bumrapers or spikers in a blood red shoes gig; but hey, anything is possible) i live in a shitty little town near Leeds where nothing ever happens. My greatest happiness in life is to catch the 10 minute train to Leeds with my friends, go shopping and go to the vue to see a movie, which let's be honest, isn't going to be the most thought inducing blog you've ever read. school is an omnipresent ''distraction'' where every other day there's another exam, coursework deadline, or most recently, an annoying german exchange partner coming to stay for a week .

or maybe i'm just being an over-exaggerative drama queen who needs to get a life if her greatest worry is what to write in a blog.
probably.
